In spite of not
belonging to the STCC (according to its abbreviation in Spanish, the Coca Cola
Workers Union), the cleaning workers, at present outsourced by the
transnational, were unconditionally supported and represented by the Union. As a
result, a favourable agreement for the sector was signed.
After the dissociation of ADONIS SRL since 22 May 2011 as the company in
charge of the cleaning service, an agreement with ISS SRL was signed, for
it to be in charge of this activity from that moment on.
After a 45-day period of discussion between Coca Cola and STCC,
these are the results:
ISS SRL
will absorb 27 workers of ADONIS SRL who will receive the severance pay
by Coca Cola in case of not fulfilling the requirements of this new
employer, after a period of 100-wage pay.
This compensation will consider in each case the seniority of the workers.
Consulted about this issue, the president of STCC, Gustavo Sotelo,
expressed his satisfaction regarding this achievement since the guarantee of
eventually being compensated represents great tranquility for the workers.
Diego Núñez,
another STCC member, has stated that ‘it is particularly remarkable the
fact that the achievements that had been acquired with ADONIS SRL will be
maintained by ISS SRL’.
He finally added that ‘this new agreement proves that Coca Cola is
completely aware of the unconditional support that the Union will always lend to
the outsourced workers, though they may not be affiliated to our organization’.
