Uruguay – FELATRAC

Coca Cola workers in the face of 2010

On Monday 9th, part of  FELATRAC leadership held a meeting in Montevideo. One of the purposes of the meeting was to follow up the situation in the plant of Montevideo Refrescos and a detailed report was approved in order to be presented at the coming meeting between the IUF and the Coca Cola Company in Atlanta, United States.

Also, a resolution was passed to hold the annual meeting of the FELATRAC in Panama, hoping to have a strong presence of unions from Central America and Mexico. Another decision taken was to coordinate with Brazilian affiliates (CONTAC and CNTA) in order to set targets and the scope of the National Assembly of Coca Cola Workers which, among other things, must appoint the Brazilian coordinator to the FELATRAC leadership.

The meeting was attended by Raúl Álvarez and Pablo Quiroga, president and vice president of the Federation; Gustavo Sotelo, Gabriel Valenzuela and Ruben Sánchez on behalf of the Union of Coca-Cola Workers of Uruguay.
