On Monday 9th,
part of FELATRAC
leadership held a meeting in
Montevideo. One of the purposes
of the meeting was to follow up
the situation in the plant of
Montevideo Refrescos and a
detailed report was approved in
order to be presented at the
coming meeting between the
IUF and the Coca Cola
Company in Atlanta,
United States.
Also, a
resolution was passed to hold
the annual meeting of the
FELATRAC in Panama,
hoping to have a strong presence
of unions from Central
America and Mexico.
Another decision taken was to
coordinate with Brazilian
affiliates (CONTAC and
CNTA) in order to set
targets and the scope of the
National Assembly of Coca Cola
Workers which, among other
things, must appoint the
Brazilian coordinator to the
FELATRAC leadership.
The meeting was
attended by Raúl Álvarez
and Pablo Quiroga,
president and vice president of
the Federation; Gustavo
Sotelo, Gabriel Valenzuela
and Ruben Sánchez on
behalf of the Union of
Coca-Cola Workers of Uruguay.
