National Campaign Against the Work Pace in Poultry Plants

Brazil’s National Confederation of Food Workers

(CONTAC), CUT and Rel-UITA, the IUF’s Latin

American division, hold a rally to

denounce the abhorrent working conditions

prevalent in the poultry industry.

Poultry processing is one of the industries with the greatest

growth in Brazil, currently accounting for the country’s third

largest foreign currency inflow. The excessive work pace is

producing a host of Repetitive Stress Injury (RSI) sufferers,

and thousands of maimed workers who have been excluded

from the labor market forever.
