Montevideo, June 26, 2012
To the
President of Schincariol
Mr.
Gino de Domenico
Ref.: Anti-union stance in Schincariol
Mr. de Domenico,
It has come to our attention that the Union of Food Industry Workers of Campinas
and the Federation of Food Industry Workers of the State o São Paulo are having
difficulties in their dealings with your company, in particular because of its
anti-union actions.
Our international confederation of trade unions and its 384 affiliates from 120
countries are awaiting the outcome of the meeting that will be held on June 28,
in the hope that Schincariol will commit to change its anti-union stance and
make the necessary and urgent efforts to generate a climate of respect that will
enable a dialog with the Union and the Federation.
We trust that this situation will be overcome, but we will remain on alert and
willing to take any union measures that may be necessary to support the Union of
Food Industry Workers of Campinas.
I thank you in
advance for your attention.
Sincerely,
Gerardo Iglesias
