No
debemos temerle al terror
sino a la indiferencia |
Ahora Londres. Otra vez el terrorismo golpea sanguinariamente
a una población civil, indefensa, ocupada en acudir a sus
trabajos, sus escuelas, en regresar a sus hogares. Otra vez
decenas de muertes arbitrarias, indiscriminadas, centenares
de heridos gratuitamente y, sobre todo, inútilmente.
Los latinoamericanos hemos sufrido en carne propia las
consecuencias de este horror, las más profundas de las
cuales aún ejercen influencia en la vida social y política
de nuestros países. Desde esas vivencias hondas, sentidas, y
a la vez con rebeldía e indignación ante los ataques
cobardes del terror, la Secretaría Regional, junto a
todos/as los/as integrantes del Comité Latinoamericano,
expresamos nuestra más completa y activa solidaridad con las
víctimas de estos repudiables atentados y sus acongojadas
familias, con el fogueado y estoico pueblo inglés, con las
organizaciones sindicales hermanas de ese país y todas las
personas afectadas en esta trágica jornada.
El dolor compartido afianza los lazos cuando son verdaderos,
y este trágico episodio demostrará, una vez más, que la
solidaridad internacional de los trabajadores y las
trabajadoras constituye una corriente inquebrantable y, a la
vez, pacificadora.
Como dijimos el 11 de marzo de 2004, aquella vez pensando en
Madrid: ¡NO PASARÁN!

We must not fear terror but indifference |
Now it’s London. Once again, terrorism has
cruelly hit the defenseless civil population on
their way to work, to school, or back home. Once
again there have been dozens of arbitrary,
indiscriminate deaths, hundreds of people
gratuitously, pointlessly wounded.
We, the Latin Americans, have suffered the
consequences of this horror ourselves, and the
deepest results still exert their influence in
our social and political life. We, the IUF
Regional Secretariat and the members of the IUF
Latin American Committee, from our deep felt
experiences, rebelliously and indignantly,
express our solidarity with the victims of these
repudiative attacks, with their families, with
the stoic English people, with the sister
British unions and with all those affected in
this tragic day.
Shared pain strengthens true ties, and this
tragic episode will demonstrate, once again,
that international solidarity amongst workers is
an unbreakable and pacifying trend.
As we said on the 11th March, 2004, after the
attacks of Madrid: ¡NO PASARÁN!
